Position Overview:
The Project Manager will provide overall technical guidance for the implementation of the GOAL project, ensuring alignment with its objectives and outputs. The candidate will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of Accelerated Learning (AL) centers, promote Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) methodologies, and develop assessment frameworks to enhance learning outcomes. The role also includes capacity building, providing technical support to the project team, and ensuring high-quality project delivery in adherence to the organization’s safeguarding principles.
Base Location and Time Allocation:
The position will be based in either Bahawalnagar or Khanewal, with regular travel between the two districts and to Islamabad to provide technical support, monitor activities, and ensure consistent project implementation. The candidate must be willing to split their time as required to address the needs of both districts effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Guidance and Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and technical expertise for the planning and implementation of project activities across all workstreams.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of frameworks for accelerated learning to facilitate access for OOSC.
- Guide efforts to create inclusive and welcoming school ecosystems, focusing on safe environments and empowered female leaders.
- Learning Outcomes and Assessments:
- Implement mechanisms to measure learning outcomes in classrooms and AL centers.
- Ensure the integration of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approaches in teaching practices.
- Facilitate and monitor assessments that guide the project’s learning strategies and inform improvements.
- Capacity Building and Technical Support:
- Train and mentor project teams, volunteers, mentors, and teachers on innovative teaching methodologies, inclusive education practices, and safeguarding principles.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing and ensure alignment with evidence-based practices and project goals.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the districts coordinators and M&E Officer to monitor progress toward achieving the project’s outputs and workstreams.
- Coordinate with consortium partners and the British Council for technical backstopping and resource development.
- Contribute to donor reporting, documentation, and advocacy efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in education program management, including Accelerated Learning (AL) centers, learning outcome measurement, and implementing inclusive education strategies.
- Familiarity with Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), alternative learning models, and assessment tools.
- Expertise in gender mainstreaming, the person has knowledge or understanding of gender mainstreaming, social inclusion , and child protection/safeguarding.
- Strong understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNCRPD, and evidence-based education practices.
- Experience with FCDO-funded or similar donor projects is preferred.
