Beacon of Safety and Progress

Empowering Village Dulla Akuka UC Mehta Jhedu Tehsil Chishtian District Bahawalnagar

The Village Organization (VO) Satluj Dulla Akuka of Dulla Akuka village, UC Mehta Jhedu, Tehsil Chishtian, District Bahawalnagar, has demonstrated remarkable community spirit and initiative.  Through collective savings of Rs. 50,000, following capacity-building training under the RSSCR Project implemented by Mojaz Foundation with PPAF funding, the VO Satluj Dulla Akuka successfully addressed a critical security concern.

A monthly meeting held on December 17, 2024, at the home of VO President. During this meeting, unanimously an important decision made and recognized the vulnerability of community to thefts, particularly during the foggy winter nights. This achievement marks a crucial step towards enhancing the safety and security of village. As a proactive measure, decided to appoint a paid watchman to keep a vigilant eye on village, providing much-needed relief and security to the residents of village and significantly improving the safety and security of the village, particularly during the vulnerable foggy winter nights.

Building on this success, the VO Satluj Dulla Akuka launched the “Roshan Dulla Akuka” project, installing streetlights throughout the village. This initiative not only enhanced the village’s appearance but also provided a safer environment for residents.

The project’s completion has been met with widespread satisfaction and increased security among villagers, further strengthening the VO’s commitment to community-led development and self-help initiatives for the betterment of their community.

The Roshan Dulla Akuka project serves as a positive example for other flood-affected villages, highlighting the transformative potential of collaborative efforts.

This initiative aims to illuminate village with street lights, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and safety. The success of this project is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together.

The community of Mojaz Foundation is now experiencing a brighter, safer, and more prosperous environment, allowing residents to live without fear. The completion of the Roshan Dulla Akuka project has brought joy and a renewed sense of safety to all residents. Members of the Village Organization are equally delighted and remain committed to initiating further collective and self-help projects for the well-being of the community.

This story serves as an inspiring model for other community institutions, especially those established in flood-affected areas. It demonstrates that even small steps can lead to significant positive change.

VO Satluj Dulla Akuka and community are very thankful to Mojaz Foundation and PPAF for mobilization efforts and continued support. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for Dulla Akuka.
