Gender equality, safeguarding and social Inclusion officer (Applications have closed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding protocols by embedding safeguarding principles into all aspects of project implementation, including activities, training, and interactions with stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular safeguarding risk assessments to identify potential safeguarding risks and implement measures to address them.
  • Provide comprehensive safeguarding training to project staff, community mobilizers, and volunteers to build their capacity and awareness.
  • Monitor safeguarding practices during project activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor guidelines, and legal frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain reporting mechanisms for safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely responses and appropriate escalation.
  • Engage with stakeholders and communities to promote awareness of safeguarding principles and ensure that vulnerable groups, including children and women, feel protected and respected.
  • Support incident management processes, ensuring investigations are conducted with confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity.
  • Advocate for safeguarding best practices within the organization and with external partners, promoting a culture of safety and inclusion.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Human Rights, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in safeguarding, child protection, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks, including child protection policies and gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective safeguarding training programs.
  • Experience in safeguarding risk assessments and implementing preventative measures for safeguarding.
  • Familiarity with reporting mechanisms and incident management processes in safeguarding contexts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks for safeguarding in Pakistan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including vulnerable populations.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality in all safeguarding matters.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across districts for monitoring and training activities.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.
